If you have been experiencing the "[P3D] P3D v4 "could not create license file" fix Update" error message as of recently, please follow the instructions below. This is a recent issue with Prepar3d 4.2. You can upgrade to Prepar 3d 4.2 Service Pack 2 using one of two direct download links at the bottom of this post, or by following these steps: 1) Log-in to your support account and visit www.chrisgilesonlineforums.com/forum/viewtopic. php?f=19&t=3084 (Please copy and paste the URL into your web browser) 2) You will need to download a zip file titled "P3D v4 64-bit CP1" using your link account. The zip file contains a single document named readme.txt. Please open it and read the instructions carefully before attempting to update the simulator with Service Pack 2. Uploading Service Pack 2 will require that you uninstall previous versions of Prepar3d v4 first, as well as run the installer as an administrator. 3) Once you have the Service Pack 2 zip file, please follow the following steps. A) Run the installer as an administrator, and follow all steps in order. B) If you are prompted to download Prepar3d v4 4.0 SP1 installers, select "No". If you're prompted by the installer to select a different operating system than Windows 7, select "Other" and then "Next", then accept both "Run as Administrator" and "install all components". If you're prompted by the installer to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86), select Yes. Next, click Next and choose Install. C) If you are prompted to run the install as an administrator, select "Yes". Next, click Next and choose Install. D) The installer will download a prerequisite program which is not required for installation. During this process, some additional data will be downloaded from the internet. While it is downloading, please refrain from doing anything that could impact speed of download or cause a crash to desktop. During installation of Service Pack 2, prepare yourself so you do not hit any interruptions during the install process such as opening your internet browser allowing pop-up advertisements and making other changes to your computer settings or applications so that you don't get cut-off during install. E) At the end of the install, after it completes successfully and closes, you will need to reboot your computer in order to complete the installation and update your Prepar3d 4.2 software. 4) Once you have rebooted, you can download Prepar 3d v4 SP1 from this link [blue] [OR] [yellow] [gold] [green]. After downloading, please follow these steps: 5) Launch your Prepar3d 4.2 install using the following commands: " dx_setup_x64 " and " dx_setup_x86 ". cfa1e77820
